Positive evidence suggests that most of the food we eat should be plant foods, foods that grow from the earth. These are building blocks to better health by fighting off degenerative diseases, cancers, diabetes and even chemicals seeping from our environment.
Here is a little snippet for our minds to mull over:
"From formaldehyde and benzene fumes emanating from adhesives in particle board, to scotch guarding in our carpet and dry cleaning, volatile organic compounds are everywhere - even in our paint and furnishings. The human body has to put up with quite a toxic cocktail within the environment we have chosen to live compared to our ancestors. All of the VOCs we have surrounded ourselves with for the sake of convenience, comfort and creativity have come back to haunt us with another C word - cancer.
Volatile organic compounds and other oxidizing substances in our food and automated environment are degrading our health and it's becoming harder and harder to avoid them. So, it's no wonder we have been told time and again to make sure we eat a good cross-section of fruit and vegetables - organic where possible - as just about all fruit and vegies contain those little substances which clean up oxidizing substances in our bodies and protect our cells from the damage caused by our modern environment. They are called antioxidants and some foods have them in enormous quantities..." http://www.matakanasuperfoods.com/ms/research/superfood-news/37-what-are-the-new-superfoods-and-why-should-we-take-them.html
On the other side of health, to gain a balanced perspective, unhealthy substances must also be explored and brought out into the open that we might become fully informed on the choices that lead to health.
For example over recent decades our minds and bodies have been assailed by processed foods. Foods of convenience laced with chemical additives and addictive ingredients to lure our taste buds. This kind of diet weakens the building blocks of good health and we reap the consequences of collapsing health.
In, The King and His Son: Book One - The Beginnings, eight building blocks for enduring health are laid down forming a firm foundation for a healthier life style. These building blocks also form the acronym STRENGTH. We hope you will have STRENGTH for Life!
In The King and His Son: Book Two - Earth Invaded by Evil, (not yet published) biblical texts and modern science blend to reveal positives which can bring good health and expose the negatives that produce a unhealthy lifestyle in today’s world.
But above all, be kind to yourself and please do not become overly stressed, trying too hard to perfect your health. Otherwise the enemy called Stress could become your invading perpetrator undermining your health. All you have gained, could easily be lost.
Really the bottom line prevails, whoever we are, wherever we are, we can only do our best, and at the end of the day pray that God will vindicate our choices and add His blessing upon our lives for greater health.
Here is a little prose to ring assuring peace into our minds:
Each created human being is a living shadow of God’s eternal beingCast in His image of mind, body, and spiritOur bodies form our physical being made of bones, flesh and vital organsWhile our brain opens the window of our mind to the view of thought and reasonAnd what we say and what we do breathes our soul essence in character and personalityThen through the spirit of our minds flow the emotions of our heart to touch the lives of othersAnd so in mind, body and spirit we humanly blend and in God we live and move and have our being.
"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27
"Thus says the Lord God to these bones: 'Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” Ezekiel 37:5-6
"And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being..."
