Last evening when sitting beside my toddler granddaughter I noticed that much of the time she rested a hand on my arm. When I mentioned this to my daughter she said, “She often does that with me. I think it must ground her.”
In the hurry, worry and flurry of life I find there is nothing more grounding than simply resting my hand on the promises concerning the victory of salvation obtained for me by the outstretched arm of Jesus on the cross:
“Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm
have gained Him the victory.
The LORD had made known His salvation;
His righteousness He has revealed
in the sight of the nations.
I also believe our simple trust honours Father God and gives Him pleasure just as my granddaughter’s action delighted me.
