God Lives Outside Time

My times are in Your hand;

Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,

And from those who persecute me.

Psalm 31:15

Father in heaven, we praise and worship Your name El Olam-  the Everlasting God, the Timeless One. Unlike us, You live outside of time. Yesterday, today and tomorrow are all one time to You.

You see all the days of our lives before they are. You can reach back into the past to start a series of events to solve our problems today and deliver us in the future just as You delivered Mordecai from Haman in the book of Esther.

Sometimes time drags for us. Perhaps we are recovering at present from an accident, surgery, an illness or a stroke. We have no control over the time healing will take. We may battle fatigue, pain, nausea and dizziness during the day and long for the night to come. Then our sleep is disrupted by pain and discomfort and in the long dark hours we long for the dawn. Perhaps we are discovering that we will never fully recover and we are entering a season of a “new kind of normal”. Thank You that even so our times are in Your hands.

Perhaps we are people who thrive on order and routine. Yet our time is constantly interrupted by the demands of others and our plans and dreams have been disrupted or shelved altogether. Thank You that even so our times are in Your hands.

Perhaps instead we thrive on variety and spontaneity and we find ourselves tied to humdrum tasks day in and day out. Thank You that even so our times are in your hands.

Whatever time or season we are going through at present we thank You that  our times are in Your hands and You are making all things beautiful in Your time.

We pray in the name of Jesus, "who is and who was and who is to come".  Amen
