God Heals Us

I will heal* their backsliding,

I will love them freely,

For my anger is turned away from him.

Hosea 14:9

*Strongs Hebrew Concordance # 7495 Rapha or Raphah; a primitive root; (properly) to mend (by stitching), i.e (figurative) to cure:- cure (cause to) heal, physician, repair, x thoroughly, make whole.

 

 

Father in heaven, we run to the safety of Your name Yahweh Rapha -Yawheh is our Healer. You are the God of total healing. You mend, cure, heal, repair and make whole.  You not only heal us physically but mentally, emotionally, spiritually and our relationships too.

Thank You that You heal our broken hearts and bind up our wounds

Perhaps fatigue, pain and frailty leave us feeling that we are unable to connect with You as we have in the past and we are slipping away from You. Remind us that You are going before us, fighting for us, through these wilderness times and You carry us as a father carries his son. Thank You for carrying us even to our gray hairs and old age.  Thank You that nobody can snatch us out of Your or Jesus’ hand.

Sometimes we slide back into old distortional thinking and coping patterns. Perhaps this is caused by something in the environment which unconsciously triggers a memory of past experiences. Perhaps we have experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse in the past or a traumatic accident or event. Perhaps a parent or spouse walked out on us and left us feeling rejected and abandoned. Now we may be wary of trusting others. Yes, even wary of trusting You. We look to You to heal us of all these memories and to wrap us up in Your love.

Heal us please too of any distorted image we have of You being distant or angry at us. Thank You that You have loved us with an everlasting love and drawn us to Yourself with lovingkindness.

Thank You that we are healed by Jesus’ stripes. In His name we pray. Amen

He heals the brokenhearted

And binds up their wounds.

Psalm 147:3

The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place. Deuteronomy 1:30-31

Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,

And all the remnant of the house of Israel,

Who have been upheld by Me from birth (margin = Lit. the belly),

Who have been carried from the womb:

Even to your old age, I am He,

And even to gray hairs I will carry you!

I have made, and I will bear;

Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Isaiah 46:3-4

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall, anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Mer, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. John 10:27-29

The LORD has appeared of old (margin = Lit.from afar), saying:

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;

Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

Jeremiah 31:3

But He was wounded (margin = Or pierced through) for our transgressions,

He was bruised (margin =crushed) for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes (margin = Blows that cut in) we are healed.
