Our Burden Bearer

Cast your burden* upon the LORD,

And He shall sustain you;

He shall never permit the righteous to be moved (Margin = shaken).

Psalm 55:22

*Burden. Strong’s Hebrew Concordance # 3053 (properly) what is given (by Providence); i.e. a lot:- burden.

The lot is cast into the lap,

But its every decision is from the LORD.

Proverbs 16:33

Father in heaven, we cast all our burdens upon you whether they be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, relational, financial or something else.

Perhaps we see patterns of burdens in our lives that we don’t seem to be able to escape. We may have fought against them or tried to avoid or ignore them - all to no avail! For a time we may have relief but suddenly they pop up again when we least expect them.

Perhaps we have questioned Your dealings with us. Could it be that this thing, which seems so heavy to carry, is there by Your providence to show us something to heal and restore us or others?

Thank You for these promises which assure us that You are not absent but using these things, working them together for our good, character development and Your purposes for our lives.

Thank You for Jesus who has walked the road before us, carries our burdens for us and gives us His rest. May He Himself be the answer to all our questionings. We pray in His name. Amen
