Prayer Solution: The Shelter of God's Name

The Shelter of God's Name

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High (El Elyon)

Shall dwell under the shadow of the Almighty (El Saddai).

I will say of the LORD (Yahweh), “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler

And from the perilous pestilence.

He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,

Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side

And ten thousand at your right hand;

But it shall not come near you.

Psalm 91:1-7

Father in heaven, we stagger in these uncertain times under the worldwide impact of the pestilent coronavirus:

  • the escalating numbers of people getting sick and dying
  • cancellations and disruptions to our normal lives -school, sports, church, activities, gatherings with friends
  • living under quarantines and social distancing
  • living 24 hours a day in the house with just the family and not knowing how long it will last
  • closed businesses
  • people who can’t work or get paid
  • financial collapse

BUT….NEVERTHELESS…..THEREFORE….we remember Your names which are a manifestation of Your character. We run to the strong tower of Your name and are SAFE.

You are EL Elyon, the Most High God, All-knowing, All-present, All-powerful. We rest in the knowledge that Your eyes run to and fro throughout the whole earth at this time to show Yourself strong on our behalf. Your eyes are always upon us and Your ears are open to our cries.

You are El Shaddai, power of the Many-breasted One, the All-sufficient One, God of More than Enough, the One who gives of Your own life to Your children. We thank You for the life that flows from Your breast through Christ for our total provision.

You are Yahweh, the Great I AM. We thank You that all that You are is available to us in Jesus. We hold on to His words:

I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. John 6:35

I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. John 8:12

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:11

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. John 15:1

So we take shelter under Jesus and praise and worship Your name. Amen
