Prayer Solution: Little Flowers of Joy

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 7:27-34

Flowers growing out of a fence

Father in heaven, thank You for the little flowers You scatter along our life’s journey to surprise us with joy. We look at these pictures of flowers blooming in unexpected, inhospitable places and we are reminded that the troubles You bring us to You will bring us through. We wonder how the seeds could have got there in the first place. While the mystery is unknown to us, we know that You know the history of every single seed. If You have plans and purposes for tiny seeds, how much more You have plans and purposes for each of us, Your beloved children.

We rest and rejoice in the thought that You will never let us go and never let us down.

We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

Supporting Verses

I know the thoughts that I have toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, Says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:11-14

But now [in spite of past judgments for Israel’s sins], thus says the Lord, He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. Isaiah 43:1-2 Amplified Bible

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God! 1 John 3:1
